Drinking is seen by people as a lot of fun, but it is a very important and indefeasible part of any country s culture. The drinkingetiquette is an essential part of that culture, while having a drink people follow the etiquette, but don t even think about it. Forinstance, in Korea holding the glass with both hands and turning one s head from the person who is an elder one, is an etiquette. In other words, any traditions or customs followed during the consumption of alcohol can be called Drinking Culture .
In Korea, drinking culture is one of the most complex, interesting and exclusive in the world. There are lots of drinking games and entertaining activities, which is a lot of fun. While here, in Korea social drinking is a trivial activity in most of Western countries people enjoy it only on Fridays or on the special occasions. Instead, if one goes travelling somewhere or there is a good reason for having a drink one is going to get drunk in the morning and continue drinking till the late night. The dancing is very much enjoyed during the social drinking, while the effect of the alcohol gets less one doesn t gain so much weight after drinking couple of beers. As for games, usually there are cards, for the ring of fire , or other toys to play drinking games. On the contrary of enjoying the alcohol in most of the countries around the world, in some of the Middle East countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Iran, the alcohol is not only prohibited to sell, but also to consume by the law, but it is not a fact that no one is drinking there. Prohibition on the sale of alcohol is also a part of drinking culture too.
Drinking etiquette, traditions are very significant parts of the culture itself, as it can show the trust between people, as in the ancient Rome where people clinked glasses to mix their drinks to show the trust between each other, assuring the other person that their drink is not poisoned; or in some cultures people used to drink together to get to know and understand each other s true nature.
